[It's a nice day, isn't it? The kind of day to just sit outside and enjoy it, crazy as that seems. Yet Silver's sitting on the steps of the library, reading a Jack London book, Quilava chilling beside him.

It's still weird, spending days not training or trying to be stronger than everyone. So far taking Sundays off seems to be working, letting his team rest but not letting them get lazy...maybe Saturdays, too?

I guess it's a bit dangerous training any type of animal. Especially if they start out wild. Most people I know would say you can't fully train a wild animal. At least, they wouldn't recommend assuming your full-grown tiger is going to act like a kitten.

Sometimes they do. [snort] I've seen huge Pokemon act like frisky little critters if their trainers are sappy enough.

Do you have special clothes you wear when you work with the animals, like gloves and things?

Some people wear gloves or really old clothes, or strong fabric that'll hold up against fire or electricity burns. But not always. For example, this little kid who challenged me once wore shorts and a tank top. It was winter!

It would seem a basic lack of common sense is the same everywhere. [She almost says 'in any world', but she's not quite ready for that even now.]

It's... [how to explain it] Well, it's our world's analogue to the Kansai region of your planet's Japan.

Yeah, I've noticed that too.

I dunno. Not really? I mean, who knows what they're thinking when they bring people over, maybe it's all randomized.

If it was random, there should be a more even distribution. If most of us come from the same area, or have other things in common, it's probably by selection.
