Quilava, that was pathetic! You have the type advantage over Sneasel, you should've been able to take that Icy Wind! At this rate you'll never evolve! And Golbat, are you even trying anymore?!

The blue-haired teen is more caught by the Pokemon, stopping near Silver to watch them curiously. Are they battling? Or just sparring? It's confusing sounding]

[Frowns a bit. Threats can work, he knows this from experience, but...] If you push them that hard, and threaten them, how can they give their all? Fear doesn't work that well, if you want the best they can give.

Are you a Pokemon trainer?

Well, I know a few of 'em, but I don't have to be a trainer to know that. Pokémon are living things, not machines. Forcing them to fight 'til they run outta steam won't make them any better. If anything, it'll just wear 'em down.

[Silver does pause for a moment to look at the scene in front of him. Just a moment.

...And then he keeps moving. Sneasel walks alongside him, looking between his Silver and the other Silver and his Pokémon with a worried expression plastered across his face.

[Silver casts a nasty glance at the other him, but says nothing. Quilava, however, will just run up to Sneasel and start chattering away, much to his trainer's chagrin.]

[Sneasel's fairly willing to stop and say hello. Silver, on the other hand, stops and stares, looking a little uncertain. He still has trouble showing open affection to his own Pokémon in public, let alone someone else's.

Ultimately, however, he bends down and offers a hand to Quilava, not quite reaching out to pet him just yet, but letting Qualiva decide whether or not that's okay.]

[Quilava seems torn between doing as his trainer says to avoid another bitch fit, or spending time with this other version of his trainer and HIS Pokemon.

Silver just stands there, still glaring at the other him.]

[After a moment, Silver pretty much goes fuck it and gives Quilava headpats anyway. He's even smiling.]

[Tracey's had his experiences with all sorts of different Pokémon Trainers, some pushing their team harder than others. Silver is the kind of trainer who pushes far too hard for the Pokémon's good, which is exactly the kind of trainer Tracey can't stand.

He's not sure what he was thinking around Valentine's Day, being unable to see what sort of person Silver really is. It's painfully clear now. As much as he would like to avoid this kid, he feels he needs to step in for the sake of the Pokémon.]

... Silver.

[Silver was just about to go back to training Sneasel and Golbat, too. All these interruptions are pissing him off; with a dark glare he turns around to face Tracey]

What do you want?

[That was an awfully venomous tone, but Tracey won't let it get to him. If Silver speaks that way to people he hardly knows, imagine what sort of things he says to his Pokémon.]

Your Pokémon need to take a break. If you push them any more, they're going to get hurt or sick.

They're used to this. Pushing them this hard makes them stronger and keeps them from getting sick.

[by this time, though, the Pokemon have stopped listening to Silver and are resting against a tree.]

No, pushing them this hard only makes it worse when they do get sick. Which is bound to happen, at this rate. You need to let them rest.

[In fact, it looks like if Tracey can just keep Silver talking enough, they will get rest.]
