A girl who he may or may not kindasorta like as more than just a friend. Maybe. The point is he cares what she thinks and his gift can't be some lousy trinket or boring thing. He wants her to actually like it...it's gotta be something that gets a rare smile out of her.
After combing the shelves of the stores a dozen times, Silver finally goes home empty-handed. He can shop for everyone else later, this has to be taken care of first so he can stop fussing about it like an idiot.]
