Jan. 18th, 2012 03:17 pmName: Silver
Fandom: Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver (Gameverse)
Gender: Male
Age: 13
Time Period: Just after his confrontation with Lance in the Mahogany Rocket Hideout
Wing Color: Gray
History: Silver is the only son of Team Rocket leader Giovanni. His father abandoned him just before his tenth birthday; on his birthday Silver left Viridian City to start his own quest of becoming the world's toughest Pokemon Trainer. He traveled aimlessly through Kanto for a while before finally making it to Johto; the first thing he did upon his arrival was steal a Cyndaquil from Professor Elm's lab in New Bark Town.
His role in HGSS
The last time he saw Johto, he'd just been defeated and lectured by Lance the Dragon Tamer.
Personality: To say Silver is difficult would be putting it mildly. He's an angry person who takes it out on everyone he meets, as well as his Pokemon. He's incredibly rude as well, insulting every trainer he comes across; he's both a poor winner and a poor loser. He's also known to physically assault people when he's in a particularly nasty mood.
He's cynical and cruel, seeing almost nothing good about other people or the world at large. The only things that matter to him are becoming the strongest trainer in the world and taking down Team Rocket. Pokemon are nothing but tools to him, a means to an end.
While his anger and callousness are genuine for the most part, in a way they're also a mask for his own fear and self-loathing. The revalation of his father's weakness shook him to the core after years of believing the man was the strongest in the world, and with the revalation and shock of his father's abandonment came a fear of his own weakness. His vow to be better than his father and Team Rocket was mostly born from this fear.
He has a lot of unresolved issues with his father; even before Giovanni abandoned him he was absent and uncaring, putting more effort into his evil organization than caring for his son. Silver resents his father deeply for this lack of caring, but part of him still loves the man. This frustrates and only adds to his anger.
Deep down, though, there's a lonely and miserable boy who just needs to be loved. Maybe. He does have a soft side...or at the very least, a heart.
Strengths:: Silver is a determined individual. If he wants something, he'll stop at nothing to obtain or achieve it. He's also very strong-willed, once he sets his mind to something he won't back down.
Despite his cruelty, he's a capable battler; if nothing else his Pokemon are strong. His Pokemon, for some reason, have stuck by his side and continue to give their all for him despite his poor treatment of them.
Being affiliated with Team Rocket has had any advantage; while not the world's best fighter he's strong and fast on his feet. Not to the point where he never loses a fight, but even if the odds are stacked against him he can still put out a decent effort.
Silver is also fairly intelligent. As a child he was home-schooled and taught everything from simple math to modern history, and always received fairly high marks during lessons. He also enjoys reading in his spare time, though he's very picky about his taste in books.
He has the makings of a loyal friend, in spite of or perhaps because he doesn't care much for other people. If the right person managed to get close to him and get him to open up, Silver is not likely to betray them or change his mind.
Weaknesses: Silver suffers from arrogance and anger issues, believing he's better than everyone else and reacting violently when told otherwise. He doesn't take criticism well; rather than taking someone's words or advice into consideration he insults them and insists they're the problem. He has a nasty habit of projecting his own flaws onto other people.
Silver also has severe trust issues due to being abandoned by his father at such a young age. Though he covers them easily with anger, deep down he fears that love and trust are the most common ways to set yourself up for betrayal. Anyone who can will stab you in the back, exploit your weaknesses for their own gain, abandon you the moment things turn sour. He believes it's better to be alone forever than to let people in.
Overall, he has terrible people skills.
His determination is a double-edged sword as well. He's not above breaking laws and hurting people to get what he wants. The same goes for his strong-willed nature, as he frequently crosses the line between "strong-willed" and "stubborn", even charging straight into "stupid and bull-headed". He tends to get in over his head a lot, resulting in humiliation or even injuries.
Silver has trouble dealing with his emotions. All he can ever seem to express is anger or cynicism; he's been taught since he was a child that sadness and tears are for the weak, and true happiness and joy may as well be foreign concepts to him. He buries his emotions deeply in an attempt to convince himself they're not real; when he denies them, it's likely he's more trying to convince himself than others.

First Person: ...why am I...where the hell is my shirt?! What is this place, what am I doing here?! Where's the Pokemon Center and the PokeMart and all the other idiots running around the city? Why does my back it-
-no. This-is this someone's stupid idea of a joke?! Wings, what the hell. Why do I have wings? Is there any way to get rid of them? Maybe they're just taped on, yeah, maybe I can just try to
Ow! No, they're real. Ugh, I'm going to be feeling that for-
-wait a minute, the journal, it's...it's recording everything I say! What the hell is going on here?!
Not that I'm scared. That'd be the reaction of a weak person, and I am notweak. It's just a stupid situation is all, and I'll get to the bottom of it. I'll find whoever's responsible for this and kick their ass!
Third Person: Out of boredom, Silver had decided to make a list of the pros and cons of his situation.
The wings were a definite con. He had no interest in discovering if he could actually fly with them, they were itchy and uncomfortable and there didn't seem to be any point. Plus, none of his shirts would fit over them...that was another con, why was his shirt missing? He hated feeling this exposed, even if he was alone.
That was another con. While he much preferred being alone, no other people meant no one to battle with. Without practice his Pokemon would grow weak and lazy and pathetic. And worse yet, he doubted he'd find that dragon guy lurking around this place so there went his chance to demand a rematch and kick his ass this time.
On the other hand, if he wasn't here that meant the kid with the stupid hat and his pigtail-girlfriend wouldn't be there either. That was a definite plus, he'd seen enough of those two for a lifetime. And at least he had his Pokemon with him, so if on the off chance he ran into any other trainers he could still battle.
But those trainers would probably be whiny bleeding-hearts too, ready to give him stupid lectures just like the dragon guy had. Love and trust my ass, those are the calling cards of weaklings! Only being strong matters!
And what if there were Team Rocket members hiding out here? It would be just like those cowards to hide in a place like this to avoid taking the abuse and punishment they deserved. Hmph. Well, if they are I'll gladly put them in their places, Silver thought.
So overall, it probably could have been a lot worse. But it was still a shitty situation and he was far from ready to "make the most of it" or whatever sappy idiots said.
